The Pride Collective operates and advocates on the unceded territory of the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ nations. The Pride Collective recognizes the ways in which settler-colonialism has impacted and continues to impact our concept of gender and sexuality and the systematic harm this has perpetuated. We are committed to practicing decolonization within our collective and throughout our advocacy.

About Us

First established in 1994, the Pride Collective is one of five UVSS advocacy groups. The collective was originally established as a Subsidiary Organization to advocate for the needs of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual students at UVic. Similarly, but with expanded language and practice the Pride Collective is here to foster community, advocate for Queer and Trans students, and offer various events, products, and services.

We believe that actualizing Queer liberation is possible through the relationships we nurture and build with each other! The Pride Collective is proudly ran by a variety of Queer and Trans staff, work study students, volunteers, and collective members.

The Lounge

The Pride lounge and office are located in the basement of the Student Union Building, room B010.

The lounge offers a safe space for Queer and Trans students to rest, mingle, and study! Within the lounge we have one private gender neutral washroom which also hosts a variety of gender affirming care products, sexual health products, and safer use supplies.

Please feel free to come visit us in the lounge!
