“No Pride for some of us, without liberation for all of us.”
(Marsha P. Johnson)
The UVSS Pride Collective (formerly known as UVic Pride), has been an advocacy group operating within the Student Union Building for two decades. The Collective is committed to practicing decolonization, deinstitutionalization and radical acceptance. We believe that actualizing Queer liberation is possible through the relationships we nurture and build with each other. Community care is revolutionary, and our intersectional programming reflects that sentiment. The Collective is proudly run by a variety of UVSS staff, work study students, student volunteers, and more.
Are you passionate about advocating for Queer/ Trans and Two-Spirit students on campus? Our Collective would not be possible without the drive and dedication of people like YOU. Our ongoing mission is to build a powerful network of Uvic Students who believe in systemic change and taking action. This year, the Pride Collective will be tabling at Thunderfest (September 8th) and Course Union Days (September 13th and 14th). Please approach us at either event if you are interested in attending our next Council meeting. We will be providing further information, games, prizes and more. For time sensitive inquiries, please view the Contact section of our website.
